The Endless Light
Before mixture, the Wise Lord knows the end of the Lie
Historical anchor
The systematic creation account is preserved most fully in later Middle Persian works such as the Bundahišn, which contain material connected to older Avestan traditions. It begins with Ohrmazd in pure light, Ahriman in darkness, and a void between them.
Fiction boundary
The poetic dialogue, imagery, and narrative sequence are modern retellings. They are not presented as a translation of the Bundahišn or as the recoverable wording of an ancient scripture.
Interpretive thesis
Evil is given a bounded arena and duration, not equality with the Endless Light.
eFireTemple interpretation
The Light does not create evil to display power. It creates a world in which evil can reveal its sterility, be resisted by free beings, and finally be separated from what is good.
