Historical anchor
Many early biblical depictions of Sheol present a shadowy destination of the dead with limited moral differentiation, while the Gathas already contrast the House of Welcome with the House of the Lie. This is a comparison of textual tendencies, not a claim that no other ancient culture imagined blessed afterlife.
Fiction boundary
The western traveler and the prophecy of the condemned man are fictional devices. The connection to Jesus saying “paradise” in Luke 23:43 is intentional literary foreshadowing, not proof that the historical Jesus consciously borrowed the word from Zoroastrian priests.
