BEHIND THIS SCENE

What is history and what is fiction?

Sacred traditionTraditional religious material; historical dating and narrative form remain distinct.

Historical anchor

The Gathas contrast the blessed garō dəmāna—often rendered House of Song and more precisely explained as a House of Welcome—with the House of the Lie. This differentiated moral afterlife is present in the oldest Zoroastrian texts.

Fiction boundary

The death of Roshana and the vigil are fictional. The House of Welcome terminology and moral contrast are grounded in Gathic scholarship.
